Georgios Hartas, MD

Dr. Hartas is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

He completed his Internship in Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in New York. He then completed his residency training in Pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia - Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center - Medical School at Houston at the world-renowned Texas Medical Center. During his training he served as a Pediatric Cardiology Chief Fellow at the Children's Memorial Hermann hospital. He then trained as an Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist at the same Institute and was mentored by Dr. P. Syamasundar Rao and Dr. J. Timothy Bricker.

He has presented research papers at numerous meetings nationally and internationally and contributed abstracts, articles and reviews for a number of publications. In addition, he has been honored with the Award of Excellence in the Resident and Fellow exhibit contest by the Texas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has also received the Travel Award twice by the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention and the American Academy of Pediatrics. His clinical interests include cardiac catheterization, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography.

During both high school and medical school, Dr. Hartas was a member of the varsity basketball team. He is active in his church and in his spare time enjoys outdoor activities such as photography and kite surfing.
